Terms of use
AIM Education Last updated: 13 October 2026
These terms explain the rules for using the AIM Education platform. Please read them. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
Who I am
AIM Education is run by me, Mia Romem.
- Legal name: Mia Romem, trading as AIM Education
- Contact: hello@aimedu.co.uk
When these terms say "I" or "me", they mean AIM Education. When they say "you", they mean the person using the platform.
How these terms fit with your school's agreement
Your school has a separate agreement with me. That agreement covers what your school pays for and how I handle its information. If these terms and your school's agreement disagree, your school's agreement wins.
How I handle personal information is explained in my Privacy notice.
Who can use the platform
The platform is for:
- staff invited by a school that has an active agreement with me;
- staff who join through their school's email domain, where the school has turned this on;
- anyone else I have given access to, for example during a pilot.
You must be an adult working in or with a school. The platform is not for pupils. The only part pupils use is the anonymous pupil voice survey, which their school runs and which needs no account.
If your school's agreement ends, or you leave your school, your access may end. See "When access ends".
Your account
- Give accurate details when you sign up.
- Keep your password private and do not share your account.
- Tell me straight away at hello@aimedu.co.uk if you think someone else has used your account.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, unless it happens because of something I did wrong.
Using the platform properly
Please use the platform for professional learning, and treat colleagues with respect.
You must not:
- upload or post personal information about pupils, including names, photos, faces, candidate numbers, identifiable handwriting or anything else that could identify a child;
- upload or post personal information about colleagues without a good reason and their agreement;
- include details of any safeguarding case or concern. If you have a safeguarding concern, follow your school's child protection policy and tell your Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Do not use this platform to report it;
- upload anything confidential to your school that you do not have permission to share;
- post anything unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, harassing or defamatory;
- upload material that you do not have the right to share, such as someone else's copyrighted work;
- upload anything harmful, such as viruses;
- try to get into parts of the platform or other people's information that you are not allowed to see;
- try to work out who gave a particular answer in a group report;
- copy, scrape or resell the programme content;
- use the platform's results to judge or manage a colleague's performance.
Before you upload a file, the platform asks you to confirm you have removed staff and pupil names, faces, candidate numbers and identifiable handwriting. Please check carefully.
Forum posts can be read by participants from other schools (who see your name as "Teacher"). Write as if anyone on the programme might read your post.
Programme content
All programme content belongs to me or to the people who have licensed it to me. That includes lessons, videos, scripts, workbooks, handouts, questions, rubrics, designs and the platform itself.
While you have access, you may use the content for your own professional learning and in your own teaching at your school. You may print or download materials where the platform lets you.
You may not sell, publish, share outside your school, or use the content to build a competing course without my written permission.
Some materials refer to or link to other people's work, such as research papers. That material belongs to its owners and is used under their terms.
What you write and upload
You keep ownership of what you write and upload: worksheets, reflections, forum posts and artefacts.
You give me permission to store, display and process that content to run the platform and deliver the programme to you and your school. This includes showing your forum posts to other participants, and including your answers in group reports that follow the small-number rules in the privacy notice. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies kept in backups for a short time and combined results that cannot identify anyone.
I will only use your work in research or published material if you have opted in, and I will remove anything that identifies you or your school first. You can change this choice in the platform at any time.
If you submit a team artefact for colleagues, make sure they agree.
I may remove content that breaks these terms.
Unit records are not certificates or qualifications (yet)
When you complete a unit, the platform issues a unit record with a reference code. A unit record shows that you took part in a professional development unit. It is not a certificate, a qualification, an accreditation or an assessment of your competence.
AIM Education is not accredited by any awarding body, university or regulator. Completing the programme does not give you any qualified status.
You will not see a mark, score or level for your checks or uploaded work. Some uploaded work may be sampled and scored anonymously to check the quality of the programme, not to judge you.
How to use the programme alongside your school's policies
The programme is built on current research and guidance, and I keep it up to date. Generative AI, and the law and guidance about it, change quickly, so check the date on any material you rely on. The programme is professional learning, not legal or data protection advice on a specific case. For individual cases, follow your school's policies and involve your DSL, data protection officer or legal adviser.
Availability
I aim to keep the platform running smoothly, but I cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. I may need to pause it for maintenance, updates or reasons outside my control. I will try to give notice of planned downtime where I can.
I may update, improve or change the programme and the platform. I will not make changes that take away the main things your school has paid for during its agreement.
When access ends
I may suspend or close your account if:
- you seriously or repeatedly break these terms;
- I need to, to protect pupils, other users or the platform;
- your school asks me to, or its agreement with me ends;
- the law requires it.
Where it is reasonable, I will tell you first and explain why. If I close your account because your school's agreement has ended, what happens to your information is explained in the privacy notice.
You can stop using the platform at any time. To close your account, email hello@aimedu.co.uk.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any of your rights as a consumer, if you are one.
Subject to that:
- I am not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the platform;
- I am not responsible for business losses, such as lost income, lost opportunity or wasted management time;
- I am not responsible for decisions you or your school make based on the programme;
- I am not responsible for content posted by other users;
- my total liability to you as an individual user, in connection with these terms, is limited to £100.
My liability to your school is set out in your school's agreement.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms, for example when the platform or the law changes. I will change the date at the top. If a change is important, I will tell you by email or on the platform at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the platform after that, the new terms apply.
Other things
- If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If I do not enforce a term straight away, I can still enforce it later.
- Only you and I have rights under these terms.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in another country, you may also have rights under the law where you live.
Contact
If you have a question or a problem, please email me at hello@aimedu.co.uk. I will reply as soon as I can.
